Virtual Fantasy (first price in demos category + best interactions & programming) and IVRC awards won at Laval Virtual 2010.

Immersive Rail Shooter, or IRS reformulates virtual elements of shooter video games and gives to physical objects a tangible interface dimension. Between augmented virtuality and mixed reality, IRS uses the space as playground and engages the player body in an intense rail shooter game.

Before beginning, the user has to set action markers and hiding places with personal furniture. It can be a chair, an armchair, an overturned coffee table: whatever wanted. After calibration, the player sits behind one of his hideouts and the game can start. The position of the body will have a direct impact on the avatar that it embodies.
When the player hides, he becomes invisible for his virtual enemies. When he uncovers himself, he can attack but becomes vulnerable to enemy bullets. Following a shooting phase, the game forces the player to change hiding place or to touch one of the markers, in order to get to a new sequence. This gesture constitutes the central playful mechanism of the application: as long as the player doesn’t perform the requested action, the game doesn’t get to the rest of the script.

Watch the concept video and the prototype demo video in High Definition on Vimeo.

Lieubeau Estate is a famous family wine-making business, based in the south of Nantes, in the Loire Valley.
I redesigned the whole Lieubeau’s identity. The logo highlights the first child of the family, who was found in a church. This silhouette stands for the tradition and the unique savoir-faire of those seven winegrower generations. I also created a set of accessories such as business cards, letterheads, envelopes and website (not online yet). The new identity is now used on various items from bottle cardboard boxes to wine glasses.

The website was created in collaboration with Edouard Durand.

How to aggregate messages from different sources? How to see SMS, MMS, emails, tweets and facebook messages on the same cellphone screen? And above all, how to represent this aggregate with a strong metaphor? Those question were asked by Orange during a short collaboration project at L’Ecole de Design Nantes Atlantique.

My proposal is an application which has the same principles as the Plate tectonics. Each plate represents a group of contacts, chosen by the user: family, pro, friends, etc. Rocks represent messages and the source (strong line) represents contacts. The closer the messages are to the source, the newer they are (and inversely).
Plates’ appearance is created with three parameters: the number of contacts, the number of messages and a strength coefficient. This coefficient is given by the user: it’s up to him to give more or less strength to each plate, that is to say more or less strength to group of contacts.

Main view is the map where the user can navigate with common multitouch interactions. By zooming, message’s details are progressively appearing (sender, title, date and type). A secondary view allows the user to see deeper in the plate: it corresponds to the archive area where oldest messages are put.
Each time a new message is received, the cellphone is vibrating. It is a volcanic eruption: bright lava appears at the source, creating a new message area, expanding the plate and pushing the other ones. Once the message is read, lava cools down.
If the user suddenly want to reorganize his plates, he can take his cellphone and shake it in order to create an earthquake. Plates, which have the bigger strength coefficient, will go on top of the other ones, creating an absolute new view of the map.

Exquisite corpse in a washing machine is a project which was done in two separate times:
- first one: I worked with Julien Bréhier and Goulven Briantais and we tried out the video exquisite corpse. Each of us had to record a half minute of video and had to show only the last two seconds of this video to the following recorder. So he could use it as a reference and could continue the experiment. Finally, we made an odd movie, in the same time unpredictable and surprising.
- second one: I had to appropriate the first video. So I deconstructed the images and made a graphic experimentation. The music of Odd Nosdam gently came in my head to go with my video. The result is a dream between lightness and violence.

Shooting by me, Julien Bréhier and Goulven Briantais.

Flux is an application which allows the user to browse through his media contents with a configurable lure system. The user picks a type of meta-data and enters a keyword in the interface to activate a lure. Once the lure is dropped in the video flux, it attracts and tags every video which corresponds to the chosen tag.
Once the videos are tagged, it is possible to look through the results of the fishing in a basket, and to add or subtract the caught videos of other lures. It is also possible to watch the videos directly in the application.
